Windrush 2020 Celebrations

Raising the standard for Black History Month in Peterborough (and around the UK) acknowledges the cities diverse rich culture and heritage and this
October is not just for Black people to raise awareness of an array of cultural, history, heritage, achievements , gains and losses in all walks of life, as all history is intermingled in and around the world's past, present and future generations. Please don’t feel excluded, be a part of what we hope will be a vibrant October. We are in the business of making all lives better and recognising the contributions of all , so share the Love

Monday 5th Oct 10 am a brief but respectable flag raising ceremony outside the Town Hall.

Attended under Rule of six intended to include (subject to availability) as following:

Ernest (who will be flag raising)

In view of the covid-19, we are intending it to be a brief flag raising ceremony and no speeches are planned in view of rule of six.

It has been agreed to raise the Windrush flag for the month of October as well. Please be informed that all flags are intended to be on half mast on 6 Oct as respect of the funeral of ex Mayor. I am grateful for your kind understanding. ).

Again due to Rule 6 and Covid these measures had to be taken and complied with.
